Dear Mickey and Staff,

I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2015 and had surgery/chemotherapy/radiation and more chemotherapy. In October of 2016 my husband Hank was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and went through the same regiment that I did. We were both unable to work and had no income coming in.

Then Mickey you came into our lives. You understood right away our situation. You understood the scariness of having cancer as well as the financial burden it puts on the family. You gave us a call and asked us how we were feeling first and then asked how you could help us with a financial bridge. And your help was more than amazing and we will be forever grateful for your help, compassion, kindness and concern. You helped us pay our rent for three months which took a great weight off of our shoulders and was one less thing to worry about.

Flash forward to the present. I am very happy to say that Hank has been cancer free for 5 years and feels good. I have Stage IV cancer but I am blessed because my diagnosis was made 4 years ago and I am still feeling good. Last December my cat scan showed that the tumors in my lungs were growing so I went on chemotherapy again. I am now on a new medication that is not chemotherapy. It is keeping my cancer stable.

Mickey your foundation is such a blessing for people like my husband and myself. We will forever appreciate what you did for us financially but also your genuine concern for how we were doing and feeling.
